Every year, thousands of independent films are made by talented storytellers who never find their audiences. We're changing that—one filmmaker, one community, one screening at a time.
What We Do

Filmmaker Labs
Immersive 12-24 month mentorship programs where filmmakers develop their projects from script through distribution. Weekly one-on-one sessions, cohort community, and hands-on learning on your actual film.

Community Programming
Monthly educational workshops, quarterly networking events, free online resources, and guest speaker sessions. Open to all independent filmmakers, not just lab members.

Permanent Venue Vision
We're working toward securing LA's first permanent home for independent cinema—a place for filmmaker-led premieres, community screenings, and educational programming.
Filmmaker Labs
Our immersive mentorship programs start at the script stage and guide you through to sustainable release. We assess your project's scope, budget, and timeline to recommend the right lab duration for your film.

Our Vision: A Permanent Home for Independent Film
Los Angeles deserves a dedicated space where independent filmmakers can premiere their work, audiences can discover authentic stories, and community can gather around cinema that matters. We're working toward securing a historic venue to serve as LA's permanent home for indie film—a cultural anchor for filmmaker-led programming, educational events, and celebration of artistic achievement.
This is Phase 2 of our mission. As we grow our lab programs and community, we're building toward a permanent venue that will serve independent filmmakers for generations.
Meet the Founders
ReImagine Indie was founded by two creatives who bring complementary expertise: one steeped in film and business strategy, the other in theater and operational systems. Together, they're building the infrastructure independent filmmakers deserve.

Jake Taylor
President, CEO
Jake is a filmmaker, nonprofit strategist, and seasoned entrepreneur. A student of film for over a decade, he's produced multiple projects and is currently developing two feature films. His creative work is grounded in real-world systems: nearly ten years in church-based nonprofits taught him how to build scalable, mission-driven infrastructure. With over 15 years of experience running restaurants, Jake brings operational rigor, customer insight, and business acumen to ReImagine Indie—blending artistic vision with practical execution.
Angie Kay
Vice-President, COO
Angie is a theater-trained creative and systems builder with over a decade of experience in film and live performance. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and has directed, produced, and supported projects across stage and screen. Beyond the creative, Angie has built operational systems and managed teams of hundreds—bringing clarity, empathy, and logistical precision to every production. At ReImagine Indie, she leads programming, operations, and day-to-day execution.
